Leaders in Surgical Care
At Mountain View Surgical’s Parker office, our board-certified surgeons provide hernia surgery for patients across Parker and the surrounding South Denver communities. A hernia won’t heal on its own — and the right repair can end the pain and get you back to normal. You’ll be cared for by the same trusted surgical group that serves the whole south metro, close to home near AdventHealth Parker, directly adjacent to the office.
A hernia happens when an organ or tissue — most often part of the intestine — pushes through a weak spot in the abdominal wall, creating a bulge you can often see or feel. The most common types are inguinal (groin), umbilical (belly button), incisional (through an old surgical scar), and hiatal hernias. Hernias don’t resolve without treatment and tend to enlarge over time; surgery is the only definitive repair. Our board-certified general surgeons repair the defect and reinforce the abdominal wall, most often with a minimally invasive laparoscopic or robotic technique that means smaller incisions, less pain, and a faster recovery.

Whenever it is appropriate, our surgeons use minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic (da Vinci) techniques for hernia surgery, which generally mean smaller incisions, less pain, and a faster recovery than open surgery. Your surgeon will recommend the safest, most effective approach for your specific condition. Learn more about our robotic surgery program.

Choosing a surgeon close to home makes hernia surgery easier — fewer long drives for your consultation, procedure, and follow-up visits. From Stroh Ranch, Canterberry Crossing, Cottonwood to the wider Parker area, our surgeons keep your care nearby, with hospital care at AdventHealth Parker, directly adjacent to the office.
Is hernia surgery always necessary?
A hernia will not heal on its own and usually grows over time. Small, painless hernias can sometimes be watched, but a bulge that hurts, grows, or limits activity should be evaluated — and any sudden, severe pain needs urgent care.
Is the repair done with mesh?
Most modern hernia repairs use surgical mesh to reinforce the abdominal wall and substantially lower the risk of the hernia coming back. Your surgeon will explain whether mesh is right for your specific repair.
How soon can I get back to work?
Many people with desk jobs return within one to two weeks. Jobs involving heavy lifting take longer — your surgeon will give you a clear timeline based on your repair.
Can hernia surgery be done robotically?
Yes. We offer robotic (da Vinci) and laparoscopic hernia repair for suitable patients, which typically means smaller incisions, less pain, and a quicker recovery than open surgery.
